I believe it out performs my 5/8 wave because I get better reports with this antenna with 3 watts than I do with 5 to 25 watts on my 5/8 that I have on my main car. I use the 1722 on a cookie sheet in the house and another 1722 is on my CR-V. |
| From: Erik Mc K1ACB | | I love this little antenna! I use it with my only radio, a Kenwood TH-F6. So small you have to be looking for it to see it on the car (I drive a crossover SUV and a minivan). Super-strong magnet and the antenna screws off the base. It receives and transmits very well -- I can pick up and hear home repeaters 150+ miles away OVER the mountains. The description says it comes with a 9' lead -- Mine is more like 12' so no complaints. I do notice that it whistles in the wind as I drive but other than that I give it an A+! |
