I have this unit hooked up to my new AOR AR5001D for shortwave listening. I am very impressed how it pulls marginal signals out of the noise especially on the tropical bands here in South Africa. It boosts the signal by up to 20dBuv, about 3-4 S-units. I thought that switching the tuner amp on might introduce some noise, but it doesn't - just boosts the signal. A great and cost-effective buy!
